WHY WE NEED A SAVIOR? CONSEQUENCES OF SIN
We have read that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. [Romans 3:23]
So, what happens if we die in SIN?
Ezekiel 18:4
“Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins will die.”
Hebrews 9:27 NLT
And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment…
What is this JUDGEMENT?
Matthew 25:46a NLT
“And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”
Daniel 12:2 NLT
Many of those whose bodies lie dead and buried will rise up, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting disgrace.
What is this eternal punishment/everlasting disgrace?
Revelation 21:8 NLT
“But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
We know that the second death is HELL. Since, no one in their right mind would ever want to end up there, how does one avoid it?
Here is a clue from Jesus’ own words…
John 3:17-18
“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
