ART PRINTS FOR SALE By Quadriplegic Artist #3

Hi again everyone. You know, when I permanently lost the use of my hands, I never thought that I’d ever experience the joy of sketching and doodling. But the Lord would not have it. Four months after coming out of the hospital, I discovered a free software developed for quadriplegics by grad-students of Boston University. Implementing the built-in webcam of my laptop, the program, Camera Mouse, would laterally track a designated point on my glasses causing the mouse-arrow to move left, right, up and down. But inspiration didn’t stop there. By the grace of the Lord, I can still move my left thumb and it was strong enough to press down the left-clicker of a mouse. So, with a mouse literally strapped on my hand, an old Photoshop program as my canvas and a few handy onscreen tools, I was able to produce 250 drawings or so, three of which I would like to show for your consideration:

Rockwall Passage [LS-2020-1012] – I was virtually touring the UK with Google Earth when I found this scenery. I think it was around the picturesque Lake District. I think… Unfortunately, I had not taken note of its actual location. I was so enamored by the scenery, I had to draw it. However, I was hoping to draw a more weathered ladder over the rockwall but the ladder looked brand new and painted white. Well, it was still a fun sketch to do.

Corn [SL-2020-1013] – One time, I was challenged to create drawings that could adorn the humble walls of a kitchen. Well, how about an ear of corn? I have to say that as I meticulously drew each kernel, it was quite therapeutic.

Crate of Eggs [SL-2020-1014] – My mind tends to be attracted by the things of nostalgia. Well, I found this vintage ad of an old fashioned egg carrier on the net. Take note the sketch is emphasizing the egg crate more than the eggs.
